Audience Engagement Samples
Many of our audience engagement materials will be available online for our patrons to access prior to and during the run of Three Sisters. These materials exist to provide context and attempt to lessen certain roadblocks to an audience's understanding of the play.
The issues these materials will attempt to address are:
-Understanding the relationships in Three Sisters
-Understanding Chekhov's sense of humour
-Why this play is relevant to us today.
-Connecting the audience to the artists.
The materials will include:
-A family tree of the Prozerovs
-Transcripts of Chekhov's letters surrounding the writing of Three Sisters
-A link to Chekhov's short stories. 'Oh! The Public' 'The Orator' 'A Transgression'
-An interview with Translator/Director Curt Columbus about why this play is relevant (like this)
-A spread of the actors' headshots with short testimonials about why they love Chekhov, or their experiences working on Chekhov's plays (like this)
